Hugo

As a German, I assumed that my beloved Hugo was a worldwide-renowned summer drink. On my first trip to the U.S., I realized that no matter how I emphasized “Hu-Go” (trust me, I’ve tried all the options), the waiter in Las Vegas stared at me perplexed and kept repeating, “I have no idea what you’re talking about.” After I got over the feeling of having woken up in a parallel universe, I realized that maybe there are no Hugos in the United States. I sighed and said, “one beer please!”

  6. Give the drink a gentle stir and serve immediately.
